Leica M2 & Leitz Summaron 35mm f2.8
Up for sale is a nearly perfect Leica M2 paired with a gorgeous Leitz Summaron 35mm f2.8 (CLA, Box & Papers). This Leica M2 camera and Summaron 35mm f2.8 are in nearly perfect condition and would be a fantastic addition to anyone's collection. Moreover it is functionally immaculate and ready to shoot with absolutely no mechanical or optical issues. The body received a complete CLA service (clean, lubricate, adjustment) in April, 2020 by Youxin Ye of YYE.
Since then less than a dozen rolls of film have been shot with this camera with good results (see sample photo included in album shot on TX400). My M3 and I can't justify having that much tied up in it right now. Functionally this Leica M2 is in excellent condition and is fully functional, smooth, and clean. Everything works as it should. The shutter curtain is in perfect condition, and the camera works perfectly at all speeds.
The film transport is responsive and smooth, and the advance lever ratchets along its action with precision. The viewfinder and rangefinder windows are clean and crystal clear and show perfect contrast for focusing. There is no fungus or mold in optical view finder.
The lens is in fantastic shape with silky-smooth focus, perfect aperture dial action, and crystal clear glass. There is no fungus or haze.
There is some sheen on the aperture blades, but there is no gummy oil binding things up or other issues that would impact your photos. I've documented all cosmetic imperfections in the photos. Note: I will also include the box and manual in the photo as well as the near-mint Leica yellow filter shown.
